Summary: Responsible for all thing’s kitchen. In a nutshell this includes, but is not limited to; working the line, overseeing all food production and execution; including menu development, catering and special events, supervising and training staff, adhering to and maintaining portioning guidelines, interviewing and hiring staff, ordering food product and kitchen supplies, staff scheduling, staff performance evaluations, general filing and other administrative duties, managing food and labor cost, ensuring food is expedited, facilitating regular staff meetings, and development of food specials. $58,000 - $61,000 DOE
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Produces excellent quality food for customers.
Efficiently plans and executes catering orders/ food for special events.
Oversees menu planning.
Develops food specials.
Sets and maintains consistent portioning.
Performs scheduling.
Performs, calculates, and maintains acceptable food costs.
Hires, trains, and mentors staff.
Works accurately with numbers and recipe conversions.
Communicates clearly in a positive and professional manner.
Strictly adheres to deadlines, product quality, recipes, and food specs.
Completes ordering.
Builds, maintains, and manages effective vendor relationships.
Maintains working knowledge of all company policies and procedures.
Provides customer service to guests as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages one subordinate supervisor who supervises in the Kitchen. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises five employees (non-supervisory). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
